My Fault...

I'm a couple days late on this post. Jasmyn's Sunday School Spring program was Sunday evening. The kids did a really great job! The show was really entertaining. This was Jasmyn's favorite show so far. Here is why:

1. She didn't have to sing

2. She wasn't on stage

3. She was semi-hidden in the audience

I had planned on taking more pictures but I could only take this one. My camera had kicked the can with this one. It didn't want to capture or process the photo. It was stuck! So I turned off the camera and just enjoyed the show.

Well, today I picked up my camera and was going to see if it even took this one picture and what I saw didn't surprise me any...I should have known better. My settings on the camera were changed! My fault! I had put the camera in the diaper bag as to not forget it, and during the beginning of the show "Little Miss Hannah Rae" was playing in the diaper bag! I should have known the reason why she was being so good was because she didn't want to be caught!

So, here it is, my one photo.

Any how, the kids did a really great job. ( So did the teacher! )

Potty time at Smith Acres!

Today was a very warm day. Very windy as well. The house heated up and Hannah got hot. So we took her clothes off and were letting her run around in just her diaper. Hannah didnt like that too well and decided she would rather be "nakey'. She just wouldn't keep a diaper on so I brought down the potty chair taking the opportunity to introduce it to her

(and also showing Dolan that she just isn't ready yet).

She kept herself entertained with the chair for quite a while. First I sat her upon her chair and that just got her started with the exploration of the chair...

Taking every piece apart then putting it back together again, sometimes in the right place. Putting toys into it. She would sit on it (improperly).

She never did "go" in it.

I finally had to put her in a diaper and get her dressed for the fear of her going on the floor.

A week in short review....

Our week has been rather boring, yet full!

Sunday Jasmyn played piano for the opening prelude at church. She was extremely nervous but still did quite an excellent job!!!

Hannah enjoyed playing with the other kids in the nursery.

Monday was a regular Monday for us. Nothing really happened except piano lessons.

Tuesday Dolan, Hannah, and I checked fence. We ended up getting two pastures done. We were extremely lucky with the fence. Needless to say, we only had to use 5 staples and absolutely no stretching of fence...{Now if only the rest would be that simple.}

Wednesday was cool and rainy. It rained most of the day. It was really coming down when picking Jas up from AWANAs. During the night the rain changed over to snow.

Thursday there was an early release from school due to the storm. It kept up all day and into the evening. A nice wet, beautiful snow!!! Jasmyn was really hoping for a "Snow Day" Friday.

Didn't Happen!!!

Just a late start. BOO HOO!

Well, Dolan ended up getting Friday off from work!

YAY!!!

*An after thought of a funny story*

Wednesday evening for supper I had made chicken enchiladas. Hannah is at the stage were she will try anything...(it makes fixing food easier for Mommy!)

I had chopped some onions for Dolan...(He likes them...a lot)

Hannah had pointed to them and made her hand signing for 'give me'. I figured she would try one then spit it out. To all of our amazement she liked it and asked for more. I then gave her a small 'helping' of onions. She kept putting them in her mouth and chewing. After about the 8th piece, she made a face and out came all the onions. She then stuck her tongue out and tried wiping it off frantically!!! It was hilarious!!! Just to calm those who might be a little concerned over Hannah and her tongue...she had a couple of drinks of water and was back to normal.

No animals were hurt in the making of this story...

I was able to snap this picture of Jasmyn the other evening. My little girl is turning into a beautiful young lady. It is amazing how fast time seems to go by...

Bath time fun

Hannah really enjoys having a bathtub!!! The pictures speak for themselves. We have been working on our bathroom for about three weeks now and will hopefully finish up soon...We used to have only 2 showers in the house and Hannah was still getting a bath in the sink. Now she is as happy as a fish in water with her new tub.

Keeping busy...

This week I have been keeping busy. Dolan and I decided that since we had some left over vinyl from the bathroom project (pictures will be posted at a later date) that we would lay it down in our front entry. It took a lot longer than what it should have just because I had to work around Hannah's schedule. Basically I only worked on it while she was napping. As you can see from the pictures below, under the carpet was beautiful oak hard wood floors. Dolan and I are not hard wood floor fans. We actually have hard wood floors all the way through out the house, and even in the basement. All of it is covered up now except the basement. In the future Dolan plans on ripping that up (a good place for termites to start) and laying down a different floor(type undetermined as of this date). Here is my work on the front room entry...

Hannah decided it made a good playroom now that I could let her in and see what I was doing. She really did not like being kept out!

My attempt at floor leveler. I know it doesn't look that great but I had to fill all the holes made by a thousand nails and staples. At least the carpet wasn't glued down (I still have to battle that one in the kitchen). Oh, and yes, all the excess filler had to be removed.

I still need to purchase some quarter round (to hide my gaps) and Dolan says he wants to repaint in there now. I also need to purchase two thresh-holds.

And as you can see from the picture, the new flooring looks a lot like our carpeting.
