Hannah's Bountiful Hair and Harvest...

Hannah today decided she wanted to become a hairstylist. While I was in preparing supper she found a pair of scissors and went to work beautifying herself. When I walked out of the kitchen she pointed at her head and proclaimed she was "Pretty!"
So, this evening, we went and saw our local beautician. She did wonders!
The after

The before...
We had a nice discussion about not cutting hair. I let Hannah know that she is not to cut her hair. After the discussion I asked her, "Hannah, are you going to cut your hair again?"
She happily responds with, "Ya!"
She may be ornery, but she is honest!
Hannah this year had her own garden. She loves vegetables. She will eat just about any vegetable except tomatoes. Even though this is not one of her better harvests do to all the tomatoes, she was still proud none the less.

Applesauce....

Hannah enjoyed helping in the kitchen. We made applesauce. She had such a great time helping!

The applesauce turned out delicious!
Jasmyn put on Hannah's mouse ears.
Both girls are growing so fast. Hard to believe both are in school now. One high-school and the other preschool. Time just seems to be speeding by.
No time for pit stops if I am to keep up.

Hannah the school girl!!!

Today is a great day! A day full of memories and new adventures. Today is the first day of Preschool for Hannah!
She has been excited for school for a few weeks now.
What a bitter-sweet day for a parent to watch their baby emerge from the baby days into big girl days of life.
Hannah finding her seat.
Her place marker.
her name over her coat hook.
Finding her coat hook.
Off to school!

Ready to go and look at the size of that back pack!

End of the day!
She talked about the mouse...she had mouse ears and a picture of a mouse that she colored that she called, "Wootbear!" I think the day was a total success!!!

Another surgery...

Sorry folks. No pictures this post. Just a little stress relief. I find if I can release my thoughts one way or another my stress levels go down.
I have another surgery, a left lobe thyroidectomy with exploratory on right lobe, September third. Oh joy! I knew it was coming but also wishing that it wouldn't be so. I am having just a little anxiety, but not too bad. My doctor was hilarious describing the surgery...
"It is a small incision low on the neck," dr says as he is using an ink pen motioning a slice across the whole neck. "It really does make for a great Halloween costume. It looks as if you had recently severed your head and had it reattached. I use staples to close the incision so you will have nice railroad tracks at the bottom of your neck." The whole time he is telling us this he is making faces along with this. He really lightened the mood. Dolan did get a little happy hearing that there is a chance that the nerves to my vocal chords could be damaged resulting in an inability to yell.
I am looking forward to feeling better. I haven't had energy in so long I forget what it is like to not feel tired and want to sleep all the time.

How to eat a cucumber?

We went and picked some produce out from the garden. We carry in our bundle of goodies and Hannah refuses to let go of a cucumber.
This is how Hannah eats a cucumber.

Beating the Heat...

It has been one HOT summer. I am so grateful for air-conditioning.
Jasmyn returned from her stay with her Aunt, Uncle, and cousin. Hannah has never been happier to see "Thithter!" Jasmyn had a great time. She enjoyed a couple concerts, art shows, movies, and shopping.
Hannah not wanting to let Jasmyn go.

We went to the movies and Jasmyn decided to sit in Hannah's seat on the way there. Silly girl!
Hannah had her hair cut. She sat still...for her. She enjoyed the hair cut, however, having the cut hair land on her kind of stressed her a little. She had to keep picking it up off of her and throwing it on the ground.
Sprinkler fun!!! She kept putting her bottom into the sprinkler and giggling. Hannah had so much fun in the sprinkler!

Jasmyn recently had her friend stay over. All three of the girls went out to paint in the evening.
The big girls took poster boards and Hannah decided that she would use the side of the building as her canvas. Laughter was in abundance!

Congratulating each other on a job well done.

Li'l Gardener...

We have a Li'l gardener here on the farm.
The pictures are in reverse order.

They are trying to save a dying Citronella plant by transplanting it. They have already saved two by transplanting.

Hannah also got her very first "big girl" bike. She has so much fun on it.

A few of her flowers. She picks them daily. Can you tell she likes yellow?

And this is Hannah's pride and joy right now. Her first watermelon. She planted the plant early on in the spring and spotted this little melon the other day. When she goes and checks it she makes a slurping sound and says "Mmmm. Yummy!"
