Hearts of cheer!

I decided to try to get a few pictures of the girls. Jasmyn doesn't like her picture taken and Hannah will do everything in her power to make it as difficult as possible.

The girls' spirits have been high in anticipation of Christmas. The closer it draws near, the more cheer they seem to have!

This year is a chore keeping Hannah out of the decorations...Last year she wasn't quite tall enough.

Here are just a few pictures from the past week. Most are from Thanksgiving. This one is "Smith Family Feast." Poor Hannah!

And then we have Jasmyn. I actually caught a picture of her. When she sees the camera come out she tries to hide.

We had another appointment with her Neurologist in Denver Wednesday. We went due to the fact that we thought she was losing strength on the left side of her body. Her left arm is not cooperating with Jasmyn and neither is her left leg. After meeting with the Neurologist we were informed that a test had come back abnormal. This would actually be the second time that it came back abnormal. The first time we ignored it and decided to just run the test again. Reason behind this...her EEG came back clear(no signs of seizures), and even though she is a teenager...she is not mentally retarded. But it did come back abnormal again. It gives us a positive diagnoses of Hyperprolinemia. The Doctors tell me that she may have the type II. After seeing three Neurologists, one who specializes in seizures, and we now need to have another EEG done while paying attention to the myoclonus. They believe that she may be experiencing seizures on her left side only. This is all rather scary yet we finally do have a beginning to figuring this out.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I've been playing around making my own backgrounds for my blogs. I really like the way this one turned out. Next I have to make a banner to match. 8-)

Jasmyn had her EEG this week. It came back clear. The lab results have also shown that Jasmyn does not have Wilson's. So, we are back to square one. The doctor has changed her medication. This one has to be ordered in. It is very new and the pharmacist isn't informed about it. This medication is supposed to help with her tremors and migraines. It supposedly won't make her so sleepy as well. The last medication made her so tired all the time that she really never woke up. The doctor ordered more labs and we still have another lab to do out here in McCook. We should have the results back in a couple of weeks. Hopefully answers will be popping up as well. Here are a few shots of Jasmyn getting ready for the EEG. After the EEG, I took her to a hair salon to have her hair washed. There was so much goo and gunk left on her head, it was nasty. Jasmyn getting all "wired."

A dangerous game...Ring around the Rosie...

We spent this evening in the emergency room. While playing "Ring around the Rosie" with her baby doll, Hannah fell before the fall down ending and twisted her ankle. It is not like Hannah to cry very long over getting hurt...about 30seconds will due before she is off and running around again. Today it was different. Every time she put weight on her foot she screamed. We waited a while before taking her in just to see if it would pass. She eventually could put a little weight on her foot but still cried and preferred to just sit. Well, me being the worry-wort that I am packed up and had us go to the ER. The doctor came in and examined her...she had quite a bit of tenderness and swelling. He ordered x-rays. The x-rays were the hardest part. Hannah was not having any part of that! When the results came in they found nothing broken, so we were sent home to ice packs and Motrin. It is heart breaking to have her like this...so opposite from her usual self.
